I decided I wanted a doula after reading the stats about how much more likely you are to have a birth without intervention if you had a doula. Katie came highly recommended by a friend and as soon as I chatted to her on the phone I knew she was a good match for us! She was so helpful in the run up to the birth, I felt so prepared and relaxed going into it. Sadly, Katie wasn’t there for the birth as she had covid but all the preparation she’d done with us meant it was exactly as I’d hoped it to be. Katie then came to the house to help with the breastfeeding. This was invaluable as our son was having trouble latching. Katie helped us with the latch and gave me the information and confidence to breastfeed. I would really recommend her to anyone.
Jess, July 2022
When we talk about our birth story my husband describes Katie to people as “worth her weight in gold." And I couldn’t agree more. She steered us in the right direction before birth, helping us prepare. During my long Labour she was in and out of the house supporting us and stayed in hospital until our baby arrived. I felt incredibly empowered to ask for what I wanted and push back on the doctors knowing that Katie was by my side and supporting me in all my choices. I know my husband wouldn’t have had such a positive experience without having her to support us.
After the birth I had a tricky start to breastfeeding and felt I could turn to Katie for guidance at any time. She helped us get a tongue tie diagnosis for our son and supported us in relearning how to breastfeed following the snip. Katie was invaluable to my birth experience and confidence in bringing our baby home.
Savannah, February 2022
Katie felt like a God send to us. We decided to look into getting a Doula when we found out both of our parents would be out of the country when our baby was due, and we wanted to know we would have the support we knew we would need. Katie couldn’t have been more of a support, warm, professional, encouraging and kind. We both felt we were in incredibly safe hands and it brought the sense of private health care that my husband Jamie was more familiar with from Australia to our (though wonderful) NHS experience. Katie worked with the staff in the hospital with utmost respect and they loved her too when we left. We had planned for a natural birth but we left hospital with our baby following an emergency ‘c’ section. We still felt we had an incredibly special birth experience and could begin our new life as parents excited, supported and confident because of the supportive birth we had had. We both think our experience would have been different without Katie and from our point of view she enabled the NHS team to focus on their role to medically look after us and our baby whilst she looked after us and held our hand through it all. Louisa, August 2021
Katie was very kind to assist me as my doula even though I called her at the very last minute when I was unexpectedly admitted to the hospital. My waters broke at 34 weeks 6 days and my plans for induction at 39 weeks were completely upended. She was very flexible with her schedule and helped me throughout my labour until my sister arrived. She was a calming, supportive and encouraging presence and made me feel like I could depend on her or asking for anything at any time. Her experience and kindness were clear to me from the moment she arrived. It was really such a pleasure to have her with me and listen to her advice during those difficult hours. She also helped me when I returned home for one week, helping to feed and take care of my son while I caught up on my sleep or ran some errands. I couldn’t have been happier with Katie as my doula! I am forever grateful.
Maryse, May 2021
I didn’t really know what to expect before hiring a doula and wondered if it was worth the investment. From the start Katie was very easy to get on with. Katie worked hard to build a relationship with us both leading up to the big day, making it very natural to have her around when the time came. Katie remained in contact with me throughout, providing useful information and tips. On the day Katie was an essential member of the team, quick to judge my needs and gather details from the staff, she made our experience much less stressful. However, where Katie came into full effect was following the birth; hours assisting me with breastfeeding, providing guidance on the frightening new world of parenthood and being there for moral support. Fast to respond to my needs and a massive support throughout, I would highly recommend Katie to anyone considering these services.
Polly and Piers, Feb 2020
We had Katie highly recommended to us by a good friend and are truly grateful. She was instrumental in keeping us calm and helping us get ready for our new arrival. She was a relaxed and reassuring presence during the labour and supported us to use our hypnobirthing techniques. My husband found it invaluable to have her experience and knowledge during the birth. Afterwards Katie was amazing in helping us get settled at home and especially with getting breast feeding established. We loved getting to know Katie and feel privileged that she worked with us.
Alice and Ben, Feb 2020
I booked Katie as a Doula, having found the first two weeks of motherhood with a newborn extremely overwhelming, such that I felt incredibly anxious. She came across incredibly supportive on her website and sounded exactly what I needed in terms of someone to build my confidence up and support me day to day.
The minute I met Katie, she brought life back into me and I saw light at the end of the tunnel! She has a wealth of knowledge regarding babies, breastfeeding, sleep patterns and all things early parenthood related! She was happy being guided by what I needed the most, but equally offered such quality advice. She bonded with my little one instantly and he very quickly felt calm with her.
Katie offered me more than just support with my newborn, she made me laugh and we had many confidence building chats, alongside a cup of tea.
I would recommend Katie to anyone, be it a family who want support during pregnancy and the birthing process or post birth.
Laura and Andrew, postnatal work Jan 2020
Katie was truly wonderful and my husband and I are so happy that we chose to have a doula present during the birth of our first child. I had quite a long labour and Katie's calming presence and words of wisdom were invaluable in our time of need! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Katie and couldn't be more grateful that she saw us through our entire journey of becoming first time parents.
Maria and Nick, Sept 2019
Katie was an invaluable support to us before, during and after the birth. With her extensive knowledge on breastfeeding she was able to get us off to the best start immediately after birth which I was very grateful for. We are so glad that we found her!
Emma August 2019
I just wanted to reach out to you and say a massive thank you. On the day we were discharged you visited us in the Ann Stewart ward of Chelsea Westminster and helped us with our little boy Archie. You finally helped him latch on after so many other attempts, and were incredibly helpful, kind and caring. It was all a bit of a blur at the time due to lack of sleep(!) but it was a moment that meant so much to myself and my wife Joanna! We massively appreciated it. He is doing really well now and feeding like a pro!

When we started looking for a doula, we were not convinced that we actually needed nor wanted one. After speaking to Katie on the phone, we decided to have an informal meeting. Once we met, I knew having Katie as our doula was the right decision. We met several times before the due date and she really helped us to get into the right mindset. Katie gave us countless sources of very valuable information, answered all our questions and addressed all our doubts, in person or by email and text. She naturally found the right balance between getting us ready but not overloading us with too much advice. Our meetings were also the perfect opportunity for us as a couple to talk about our fears, which we would probably not have done if Katie wasn’t there to ask us relevant questions.
Due to a breech position, we ended up having a caesarean. Even though it was planned, Katie’s support was priceless before, during and after. She helped us to stay positive about our birth experience and feel in control despite the caesarean not being what we wished for in the first place. She gave us books and blogs to read, which made a big difference. On the day, we felt ready and kept a positive mindset. Her support continued after the birth with much needed breastfeeding advice in the hospital and during several visits at our home.
Our experience would not have been the same without her and we sincerely thank Katie for everything she did. She is an outstanding doula and I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for the best support throughout their pregnancy and after giving birth.
Celine December 2018
We knew from first meeting that Katie was the right doula for us. Calm, knowledgeable and kind through pregnancy and labour, she was there for us when we needed her, a reassuring presence throughout. She works with huge discretion, helping at all times but never interfering. The benefit of having someone present at the birth that we knew, liked and trusted was a huge support to us both - we couldn't have done it without her.
Suzie – September 2018
Katie came to help us establish breastfeeding with our daughter after a traumatic birth and extended stay in hospital. I am so grateful that we found her and cannot recommend her highly enough! At a time when my husband and I were very tired and anxious, Katie was incredibly calm, kind and practical from the outset. She is a very knowledgeable, reassuring and warm-hearted person - exactly the qualities you need in the person supporting you in those tricky newborn days. With Katie’s help, we were able to fully establish breast feeding with our daughter. Just as importantly, she gave me confidence in my abilities as a mother at a time when I was full of doubt. My husband and I are both full of gratitude and so pleased that we asked for Katie’s support.
Helen - March 2018
Katie is a very intelligent woman, a good listener, with a great sense of humour that comes up at the right time! She is knowledgeable and constantly researching to improve her knowledge.
She is so passionate at what she does, and I would describe her as a natural, therefore a great support for women living this beautiful journey.
I clicked with her immediately we spoke, and I have loved her discreet and present way of being there for me in these months, with her supportive words, her way of listening to us, and all the precious information and tips she gave us.
During the labour she was there, supportive, knowledgeable and with the most calming voice helping me through the breathing. When in that pain, you hardly want to have people around talking to you, but she has her special way and that helped a lot. She was very present and reassuring throughout the whole process.
Afterwards we discussed the experience at the hospital, my recovery, and talked through the labour. She was very supportive and encouraging talking about the way I coped and that made me feel very proud of myself. Katie kept in touch after the birth, she visited in hospital and at home. As always, very discreetly, making sure to visit whenever best for us. We discussed how the breastfeeding was going and she gave me practical help with it, making sure I was living this experience serenely.

After deciding to have a home birth, we felt it would be beneficial to hire a doula and choosing Katie to be our doula was the best decision we could've made.
Katie's support was incredible - I really could not have got through a 20 hour labour without her support every minute of the way. She was there to support for all things big and small... helping me breathe through the contractions, keeping me fed and watered, keeping the pool at the right temperature and supporting my husband. She also provides great support before and after the birth and really helped with breastfeeding and making me feel confident as a new mom.
We can't thank Katie enough for all of her positive energy and support and I would recommend her to anyone thinking about getting a doula for their birth.
Jenn - July 2017
Katie is a wonderful and caring doula and I would highly recommend her to anyone. Her presence during the birth of our daughter was a tremendous help. I wanted the birth to be as natural as possible and Katie's knowledge and encouragement was invaluable in educating us throughout. Katie was great in suggesting different labouring positions as well as being very helpful in guiding us to make decisions during the labour. She was instrumental in helping to keep my mind focused as well as being a fantastic support for my husband. We could not have asked for a better doula experience. Thank you Katie.
Anita - August 2016
Thank you a hundred times over for being so flexible and kind to me. I'm a bit overwhelmed, you are so lovely. I am almost lost for words with your kindness. Thank you for being my doula, I find it hard expressing my appreciation.
